My name is Caroline Powell, and I think this is my fourth attempt at starting a blog. As soon as I could spell my own name, I’ve had a love for writing. I’m also no stranger to the blogging world. In 2014 I ran a blog with my three best friends. Fashion Girlz covered red carpet looks and featured the style opinions of four 5th graders with no credibility.
While the blog only lasted a few months and wasn’t commercially successful, it had a profound impact on me. Over the past decade, I’ve held on to the goal of starting a blog, and it has even snuck its way into my New Years resolution list a few times. Since I didn’t accomplish the goal in 2023, starting a blog became my top priority in 2024.
And now, here I am! As a junior in college, this blog feels like an accomplishment for my fifth grade and middle school self. At the same time, it also feels like an investment in my future. I will ask one small favor, I’m going to need your support to encourage me to continue pursuing this goal. My dream is that one day I’ll be able to look back and say that writing my blog was an integral party of my twenties.
Now you know a little bit about my “why.” Soon I’ll be sharing the backstory to the name Complimentary Celebrations. As for what to expect in the future, I’m not entirely sure yet. Being a college student, a lot of posts will be centered around advice across many aspects of college life and ideas for current college students to make the most of their four years. Over time, I’m sure I will find my niche.
Thank you so much for reading! See you next time!
